The Dixie’s art students are encouraged to work in all kinds of media, including ceramics, painting, printmaking and textiles. This extends their imagination, refines their artistic skills and develops their critical awareness.
An amazing project and fantastic new curriculum for Year 6 which is to become a genuine transition year between Junior and Senior education – neither Junior nor Senior, but with the best elements from each.
Geography, History and Religious Studies are highly valued and taught as individual subjects by specialists. The Humanities encourage us to think creatively. They teach us to reason about being human and to ask questions about our world. The study of Humanities develops informed and critical citizens, who are essential to ensure the future we would all desire.
We are delighted to share with you our most recent ISI Inspection Report from February 2022…
Students at The Dixie are passionate about languages, and recognise that they are the key to 21st century citizenship, providing the crucial link in an increasingly global economy and multi-cultural society.
Music plays a prominent part in the life of the Dixie Grammar School. Music can be magic – it enriches and inspires.
At The Dixie all students have both a well-rounded understanding and an enthusiasm for science. All students study the three separate sciences Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Year 7 to Year 11. Teaching is by subject specialists in a dedicated science block.
The Physical Education Department offers a broad and balanced programme of activities for students to participate in. We aim to offer access to as many activities as possible in the curriculum rather than focus intensely on a small number of sports.
In all aspects of their life at Dixie, pupils are encouraged to take risks, challenge themselves and gain the confidence and skills that will enable them to move to the next stage of their education.
We are proud of our external examination results, and particularly in our record of securing places for individuals at their first choice university. Our small group sizes, expert tuition and individual support ensure that every individual redefines and achieves their own potential.
